Worlds of Magic has officially launched on Steam, a 4X turn-based strategy game developed by Wastelands Interactive. Taking place in the world of Elannra, Worlds of Magic is a spiritual successor to Master of Magic and features uniquely generated universes, allowing players to expand their empire by building armies, recruiting mercenaries and founding or capturing cities. In total, there are eight playable races in Worlds of Magic with over 10 terrain types and nearly 30 world resources to exploit. The game uses D20 battle combat mechanics and is home to over 80 military units, over 40 wandering and summonable units, 40 heroes and champions and over 400 spells divided into 13 spell circles. If you’re a fan of 4X games but always wanted one set in a fantasy world, Worlds of Magic is tailor-made for you.
“Worlds of Magic is almost three years of a hard work of the whole Wastelands Interactive team,” said Wastelands Interactive CEO Leszek Lisowski. “We are extremely happy that we’ve been able to create a game, that preserves the spirit of Master of Magic – a true classic. I would like to sincerely thank all our backers, who helped us make this game come true and all our community members, who were deeply engaged during the making of Worlds of Magic. Your initiative and invaluable feedback reassures me that the game was created exactly to meet players’ expectations. During the last half a year, with the game in Early Access, we earned the trust of the Steam community, taking active part in discussions and providing weekly updates. In the future, we are still planning not only to provide the same level of support, constantly working on making the game better, but also develop new content. Worlds of Magic is a game that will surely cast a Charm spell on every fan of 4X.”
Worlds of Magic will also bring the 4X genre to the PlayStation 4 later this year.
