Famed developer PlatinumGames is teaming up with Activision to bring a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) game to the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Titled TMNT Mutants in Manhattan, the announcement trailer shows off PlatinumGames’ signature action-packed style of gameplay with notable characters such as Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady all making an appearance.
The game is being described as a third-person, team-based brawler and each Turtle (Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michaelangelo) will have his own playstyle and abilities. Expect the weapons that each Turtle wields to play a major role on how each of them play, with Leonardo wielding a pair of katanas, Donatello with his bo staff, Raphael with his sais and Michaelangelo with his signature nunchucks. The campaign will be playable either in single player or cooperatively with up to four, naturally.
It appears that TMNT Mutants in Manhattan will have all the elements PlatinumGames is known for, which is the same team that has created Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2, The Wonderful 101, Transformers: Devastation as well as a Legend of Korra adaptation, although that game was fairly basic.
