Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has been delayed again and will now be released on May 10, 2016. President and CEO of SCEA, Shawn Layden, shared the news on the PlayStation Blog, citing that the game has been postponed by two weeks to allow additional manufacturing time. According to Layden, there is considerable worldwide demand for Uncharted 4 and Sony wants to ensure that there are enough copies of the game so that gamers worldwide will have the opportunity to play the game on day one.
The game however, is still on track to go gold and into production later this month, so the delay is simply to make sure there’s enough physical copies to go around. Uncharted 4‘s first delay had the release date set to April 26, 2016.
“We know this news might be disappointing, and we are sorry to have to make you wait a little longer to play Naughty Dog’s latest,” said Layden. “The good news is that the game is phenomenal — we are fully confident that it will be worth the wait and the team at Naughty Dog is eager as ever for you to experience Nathan Drake’s final adventure.”
