The eighth and final free content release for Halo 5 is going live June 29 and even if you don’t own the game, you will have an opportunity to check out the latest features. The final content release is called Warzone Firefight, named after the new mode being added and is the biggest expansion to Halo 5: Guardians yet. To celebrate its release, the full game will be available to download and play for free to all Xbox Live Gold members from June 29 to July 5, as part of Xbox Live’s “Free Play Days” program. In addition, the game will be on sale for 50 percent off during the same time.
The Warzone Firefight content release adds a new game mode called Warzone Firefight, a co-op mode that has been teased and beta tested in April. Since then, 343 Industries has increased the difficulty of each round and added brand new bosses and vehicles, including the hilarious Grunt Goblin boss and the powerful UNSC VTOL, AV-49 Wasp, deployable as a REQ vehicle in all Warzone modes and available to use in Forge.
There’s also a new campaign feature called Score Attack, with campaign scoring making a return to the game, enabling players to compete against their friends for points and medals in online co-op play or solo. New maps being added to Halo 5 include Attack on Sanctum, Prospect and Molten while there’s a new Forge Canvas called Tidal. Lastly, more new REQ items will also be part of the update including the Cinder and Cyclops armor sets, Convenant vehicle and weapon variants, HCS Pro League weapon skins and additional customization sets.
