The Sony PlayStation Store has revealed its top downloads of 2016 with Rocket League claiming the top spot among PlayStation 4 games. Although Rocket League launched in 2015 and was even free for PlayStation Plus members, the game went on to garner more downloads than any other title last year. Rounding out the top five downloaded PlayStation 4 games were Battlefield 1, Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Tom Clancy’s The Division.
For PlayStation 3 games, Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition topped the list, followed by The Last Of Us, Grand Theft Auto V, LittleBigPlanet 3 and Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare.
Sony also revealed the top PlayStation VR games that were purchased on the PlayStation Store, which includes Job Simulator, Batman: Arkham VR, Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, PlayStation VR Worlds and Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes.
Even the PlayStation Vita had its fair share of downloaded games with Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth leading the way for 2016. Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition took the second spot, while God Eater: Resurrection, XCOM: Enemy Unknown Plus and Borderlands 2 made up the top five.
For the Holiday season, ARK: Survivor’s Pack topped the list of PlayStation 4 downloaded games, followed by Final Fantasy XV, Need for Speed, Grand Theft Auto V and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.
