Developed on Rayman Origins‘ engine, Ubisoft Montreal has announced its latest project titled Child of Light. The game is currently under development and led by Far Cry 3‘s creative director, Patrick Plourde. Plourde is describing the game as a side-scrolling fairytale game, capturing the classic spirit of Squaresoft (as in, not Square Enix) titles.
Child of Light was announced at GDC Europe earlier today and Plourde explained that the project is the result of wanting to create a counter-point to Far Cry 3. Inspirations for the title are being drawn from Studio Ghibli artist Hayao Miyazaki and Yoshitaka Amano.
