Nintendo is continuing its onslaught of debuts with Splatoon, an ink-filled third-person shooter action game that appears fast-paced and geared towards multiplayer fun. In Splatoon, up to eight players will engage in 4 vs. 4 combat as they splatter one another and claim their turf using ink-spewing, squid-like characters called Inklings. Your goal in Splatoon is to get your ink on as many places as possible and claim your turf, all while strategically submerging yourself in your team’s colors and blasting your enemies.
Covering more territory with your team’s ink will unlock powered-up super weapons that can be used to attack rivals or cover more turf. In Splatoon, strategy is everything with a bit of a tug-of-war feel to the game. The game will also have online multiplayer support so you’ll always be able to find a 4 vs. 4 match.
Splatoon will be released in the first half of 2015 for the Wii U and will be exclusive to Nintendo’s console.
