Nintendo will be heading to the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con with plenty of games in tow including Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and 2DS/3DS, Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta 2 and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. The company’s hub at this year’s SDCC will be located at the Nintendo Gaming Lounge on the first floor of the Marriott Marquis & Marina Hotel, so even those without a Comic-Con badge can get in on the fun. Nintendo will also have a booth at the San Diego Convention Center dedicated entirely to Super Smash Bros. for the 2DS/3DS.
On July 25 and 26, Nintendo will stream Nintendo Challenge Live with tournament competition and gameplay challenges for some of the upcoming games on Nintendo platforms. The company will also be hosting the first-ever tournament for Super Smash Bros. 3DS and will be conducted using the E3 version of the game. Super Smash Bros. 3DS will be released on October 3. Mario Kart 8 lovers will also get their chance to show off their skills by competing in local Mario Kart 8 competitions.
Lastly, Bayonetta fans will get a chance to check out a screening of the new animated film Bayonetta: Bloody Fate from FUNimation Entertainment.
“Nintendo fans are going to have a great time with what we have planned for San Diego Comic-Con this year, whether they are attending the event or watching at home from across the country,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “From first hands-on opportunities to tournaments and a fun live stream, we want to make sure that everyone has a great time experiencing Nintendo at the show.”
