During today’s Bayonetta 2 Direct, Nintendo revealed that several Nintendo-themed costumers will be heading to the game for the heroine including Link, Princess Peach, Samus and Star Fox. The costumes will be available as unlockables in the upcoming Wii U title and will not only change Bayonetta’s appearance but also grant her special movies that are related to the costume. For example, the Samus costume will allow Bayonetta to transform into a rolling morph ball while the Link costume will convert the game’s currency from halos to rupees. The game will also introduce a new playable character named Rodin the shopkeeper, who will be available in Bayonetta 2‘s online cooperative gameplay mode called Tag Climax.
Bayonetta 2 will be released exclusively for the Wii U on October 24 in North America and those opting for the retail copy will also receive the original Bayonetta for free. Digital buyers will get a special discount applied to the purchase of the first Bayonetta to bring the total purchase price to $59.98.
