The Star Wars Battlefront beta will start on October 8 and will be available for the PC via Origin, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The open beta will take place between October 8 and October 12 and is a technical test that will give Rebels and Imperials just a small taste of what the game will entail when it’s released on November 17. The Star Wars Battlefront beta will include three modes for players to experience, taking place across three iconic planets.
The first mode is Walker Assault on Hoth where gamers will fight in epic 40-player battles as a Rebel to destroy the Empire’s onslaught of AT-AT’s by calling in Y-wing bombers. Or, you can side with the Empire and protect your walkers against the Rebels.
Next is Drop Zone on Sullust featuring escape pods as they come crashing down onto the planet. You and your team will have to fight to control the escape pods in frantic 8v8 matches. Lastly there is the Survival Mission on Tatooine which allows players to either play alone or with a friend via co-op or split-screen. In Survival Mission, players will battle off waves of Imperial Forces including AT-STs, Tie Fighters, elite Stormtroopers and more.
Players will also get a chance to check out the Star Wars Battlefront Companion experience that features the strategic card game Base Command. Playing Base Command will earn you in-game Credits that unlock Star Cards, weapons and more in Star Wars Battlefront. The Companion also lets players check out game stats and progression, customize load-outs and appearance, connect with friends and more.
