Square Enix has released the E3 2016 trailer for I Am Setsuna, an upcoming RPG heading to the PlayStation 4 and PC. The new gameplay trailer showcases the Chrono Trigger-inspired combat system and also introduces viewers to the game’s beautiful art, music, story and game design. Developed by Tokyo RPG Factory, I Am Setsuna promises to be a classic RPG for modern times.
The game will follow the sorrowful story of Setsuna, a young woman of incredible inner strength and the sacrifice she must undertake to save the people of her land. Joining Setsuna on her journey will be two of her bodyguards, as players travel to the farthest lands while immersed in an emotional and unforgettable story of true bravery.
The RPG will be available digitally on the PlayStation 4 and Steam starting July 19, 2016 in North America and will be priced at $39.99. Fans can pre-order on Steam to receive a special music track from composer Tomoki Miyoshi.
Tokyo RPG Factory was established in August 2014 as a new studio within Square Enix to specialize in Japanese RPGs. The studio focuses on revisiting the ethos and practices used to develop for the 16-bit era and inspires to re-introduce the classic JRPG style to current hardware, mixing the spirit of the past with technologies of the present.
