Subset Games, creators of Faster Than Light, has announced its next new title: Into the Breach. The turn-based strategy game features a similar art style to Faster Than Light, and will have players defending the remnants of human civilization from gigantic creatures breeding beneath the earth. To do so, players will control powerful mechs from the future to hold off the alien threat, with each attempt to save the world offering a new randomly-generated challenge.
Along with the above trailer, Subset Games gave a few details about Into the Breach:
- Defend the Cities: Civilian buildings power your mechs. Defend them from the Vek and watch your fire!
- Perfect Your Strategy: All enemy attacks are telegraphed in minimalistic, turn-based combat. Analyze your opponent’s attack and come up with the perfect counter every turn.
- Build the Ultimate Mech: Find powerful new weapons and unique pilots as you battle the Vek infestation across Corporate-Nation islands.
- Another Chance: Failure is not an option. When you are defeated, send help back through time to save another timeline!
The game is currently under development and will be heading to Windows, Mac and Linux when the company feels it’s ready.
